The Walker Deficit

Walker and his cohorts woke me from my complacency to help protect and speak for those, including myself, who are not wealthy enough to withstand his heartless cuts to the common good of all the people of Wisconsin. 

$1.8 billion cut from K-12 Education to balance the budget. 

…we’re still $143 million short. 

Teachers are not the problem.

I came to be heard and protect the rights of those like me who need to earn a living wage and be provided affordable health care. 

And to teach my grandkids and others how to protest. 

Slashing funding for already underfunded schools? Lifting clean water & recycling mandates? Using federal foreclosure relief dollars for state budget gap? 

REALLY?

• WE ARE UNEMPLOYED - loss of jobs continuing under Walker.
• WE ARE UNINSURED -  we are afraid of getting sick. 
• WE DON’T PARTICIPATE IN HEALTHY ACTIVITIES FOR FEAR OF ACCIDENTS - canoeing, rollerblading, biking, running.
• AP & HONOR CLASSES HAVE STUDENTS WHO DON’T TRY BECAUSE TOO MANY TEACHERS HAD TO “RETIRE.”
• I HAVE MET MY NEIGHBORS AND MADE GOOD FRIENDS RECALLING

I depend on Medical Assistance and Medicare in order to live at home. I just found out that 3 of the 9 hours of home care services I rely on will be cut due to Walker’s “budget repair bill.” I will no longer be able to serve the public as a County Supervisor. Thanks Scott Walker for taking: my home, my family, my job.
